PIABCI Prix d'Excellence 2002 Awards
Villa Verde, Keppel Land's landed development in Singapore has received a special mention in the
residential category of the prestigious FIABCI Prix d'Excellence 2002 Awards. The award presentation
was held in Kuala Lumpur in May 2002. This is the second consecutive year that Keppel Land's projects
have won the recognition from FIABCI. FIABCI, the French acronym of the Paris-based International Real
Estate Federation, is the organiser of the annual awards which honour the best property developments
around the world. Prix d'Excellence awards are held with great esteem and sometimes referred to as the
Oscars of the real estate industry. In the previous year, two of Keppel Land's projects, Capital Square
and Bugis Junction received special mention in the office and retail categories respectively. Spanning
across some 126,000 sm of land, Villa Verde comprises 515 three-storey terrace houses featuring designs
based on three themes - American Colonial, Mediterranean and Tropical. Many of these units come with
roof gardens which are popular among the buyers.
The House of Tan Yeok Nee, a conservation project has also received special mention in the specialised
category of the FIABCI Prix d'Excellence 2002 Awards. The house is owned by Winpeak Investment and
Wingem Investment, joint-venture companies in which Keppel Land has a stake. The conservation house
with traditional Chinese courtyard-style was originally built in 1885 by a wealthy Teochew businessman.
The house was carefully restored to ensure that its original architecture and character were kept
intact.
The House of Tan Yeok Nee is currently leased out to the University of Chicago Graduate School of
Business as its Asian campus.

Two of Keppel Land's projects were among the finalists in the prestigious The FIABCI Prix d'Excellence
2001 Competition held on 23 May 2001 in Oslo, Norway.
Bugis Junction was one of only four finalists under the "Malls and Shopping Centres" category,
while Capital Square was one of four finalists in the "Office / Industrial" category.
Organised by the Paris-based International Real Estate Federation which has more than 50 member
countries and over 110 professional organizations worldwide, the annual event recognises the best in
world real estate. It rewards projects that show excellence in terms of architecture, construction,
marketing, facilities management, community benefit and impact on the environment. Projects were
evaluated by a panel of international real estate professionals and experts on their overall merit
rather than focusing solely aesthetics, functionality or size. To emerge a winner or finalist in the
competition hence represents an outstanding achievement and access to unique international platforms
for their projects.
