Each of the homes at Corals at Keppel Bay is specially fitted out with customised furniture from renowned Italian brands Poliform and Varenna – both of which are leading global purveyors of elegant and luxurious furnishings.
Space Furniture, the exclusive retailer of Poliform and Varenna in Singapore, Australia and Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, has worked with the two brands to design one-of-a-kind wardrobes and kitchens for Corals at Keppel Bay homes. It is now also offering homeowners of the development an exclusive, private shopping experience called “By Appointment”.
As a resident at Corals at Keppel Bay, you’ll be able to make an appointment to browse through Space’s extensive collection of furniture, lighting and accessories. Select from a range of edited collections of furniture packages, or customise/curate a new collection just for you with the help of Space’s interior furniture consultants.
Keppel Land Live recently sat down with Ms Christina Caredes, Group Chief Executive Officer of Space Furniture, to find out more about this exclusive partnership and the work Space has done for Corals at Keppel Bay.
Thank you for chatting with us, Christina. The private shopping experience sounds wonderful. Why did you decide to offer it, and what advice do you have for the homeowners at Corals at Keppel Bay?
Christina: We established By Appointment, as an extension of our services to preferred clients and to continue to be a leader in our industry. We appreciate that our clients have different needs. Some prefer to shop with discretion; others need the flexibility of after-hours consultations, or simply prefer a completely bespoke shopping experience. No matter their reasons, By Appointment is designed to create an effortless experience for our clients.
Corals homeowners will be one of the first in the region to enjoy this new level of service. Highly-skilled Space design consultants will help residents select from our extensive collection of the world’s best design brands. As a long-time partner of Corals, we have an intimate understanding of the development and its interiors. We also offer qualified advice on which furniture pieces will best suit the apartments, and will work closely with clients to tailor collections that best complement their lifestyles. .
The built-in furniture at Corals at Keppel Bay is pretty special too. Can you tell us more about how the Poliform wardrobes and Varenna kitchens were tailor-made for the homes?
Christina: The collaboration between Corals and Space has resulted in one of the most exclusive offerings for interiors seen in this market.
Each Corals apartment features Poliform wardrobes and a Varenna kitchen and it is in the finer details that you’ll truly appreciate the level of design consideration for this project. For example, the wardrobes are cleverly conceived with purposefully built-in and concealed de-humidifiers, which will help protect the homeowners’ handbags, clothes and valuables from heat and moisture in the air.
Small touches, such as the refined engraving of Corals branding on the leather drawer handles, also demonstrate the level of exclusivity for this project.
In the kitchen, the high-gloss acrylic finishing is exclusive only to Corals; other customers will not be able to order this finishing as it is not on the Varenna catalogue. This is bespoke design at its best.
Another feature of the Varenna kitchens for the Corals project is the customised Poliform dining table, which extends from the kitchen to create a dining peninsula with a small bookcase at the end. This custom-made product integrates seamlessly with the kitchen and maximises homeowners maximum flexibility in space use. The compact bookcase can also be moved, revealing extra seating space should more guests need to be entertained.
Taking a step back, why did Space decide to work with Poliform and Varenna for Corals at Keppel Bay? What can homeowners expect from the brand?
Christina: Poliform and its sister kitchen brand Varenna have a long heritage of design excellence and innovation in technology. Both brands embody the best of Italian design, underpinned by an uncompromising commitment to quality.
Poliform works with the world’s leading architects and designers, including luminaries such as Daniel Libeskind, the master architect of Corals at Keppel Bay. Synergies like this mean that homeowners can expect a distinctively Made-in-Italy aesthetic and superior quality that is required for a project of this stature.
Poliform wardrobes and Varenna kitchens are also recognised internationally for sustainable practices. They are endorsed locally by the Singapore Green Labelling Scheme for their use of recycled materials in their particle boards.
Let’s talk about Space too. You’ve worked with many renowned European and North American brands. How do you select the furniture, lighting and accessory lines to feature in your showrooms?
Christina: We are very proud of the collection of brands which are available in our Space showrooms. While each has their own unique aesthetic and brand positioning, what unites them is that they are well designed, original and manufactured to international leading standards. Integrity is an important part of Space’s brand values and we only work with brands who offer the same integrity when it comes to the products they manufacture.
Thank you for your insightful answers, Christina. We have just one last question: If you had to describe Space in three words, what would they be and why?
Space Furniture will always be synonymous with creativity, integrity and excellence in everything we do. From the brands we represent, to the presentation of our stores and the value we place on the relationships we have with our clients, suppliers and team members. These are the fundamentals on which we have built our business.
